Marci's Pet Fund

Independence Animal Hospital has established Marci's Pet Fund in memory of Marci Vernon, our long time friend and veterinary assistant who died from cancer in July of 2000.  The purpose of this fund is to provide a catastrophic injury and  illness scholarship assistance for pets who otherwise would not receive adequate care due to the owner's limited financial resources.

The fund has received a number of very much appreciated donations, and our animal hospital has and will continue to donate to this fund in memory of pets who must be euthanized.  This fund will be used only for catastrophic cases.  the fund is ongoing and donations are welcome at any time.

New Equipment

Dr. Epp is being visited by Santa early.  For a couple of years now Dr. Epp has had his eye on a special item that would make working with cattle a whole lot easier.  It is a squeeze chute, tilt table combination.  It will make working with some of the cattle a lot safer as well.  No more changing gates, and getting the cattle to back up down the alley way just to let them out.

The new chute is fully hydraulic with a head restraint.  This will help Erin and Melissa when they are trying to tag those ornery cows.  The floor drops out as the table is being tilted up to make trimming feet much easier.
