A HISTORY

September 1, 1975 Dr. Epp & his wife Sherry purchased the Hayes Animal Hospital from Dr. Robert Hayes and his wife Helen and changed the name to Independence Animal Hospital.  A lot has happened in those 25 years!  Here are some highlights that come to mind.

• Their two children, Leslie and Nathan were born, grew up and obtained their engineering degrees from Kansas State University. 
• Fall 1975 - K-Mart bought the pasture just to the  west and built a new store.  Independence has continued to expand west until we are no longer on the very edge of town.
• The practice has grown from  a one doctor, 50% small and 50% large animal practice to, 75% small and 25% large animal practice.
• Spring 1997 - major remodeling of the clinic.
